Obituary: Charley “Chuck” Patrick Mann

October 20, 1951 – May 18, 2026

Charley “Chuck” Patrick Mann passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born in Bedford, Indiana, on October 20, 1951, to John Mann and Maudie Grunden Mann, Chuck lived a life filled with family, love, and simple joys.

Chuck began his career with IATSE locally with the 618 Bloomington and progressed to Local One in New York City. His work as a stagehand, with concentrations as a flyman, carpenter, productions manager, and consultant, took him around the world. His career spanned numerous Broadway productions as well as many national and international tours, television, and industrials.

You could characterize Charley as a man who would take on any challenge, and that was evident in the many projects he loved working on at home and within his professional work. He found his greatest peace in quiet moments fishing and enjoying nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Rodney Mann, and his nephew Joe Thoms. He is survived by his sister, Patty Mann Tolliver; his children, Bryce Mann, Michaela Mann, Meagan Mann, and John Mann, and former wife, Alison Gertner-Mann; and his six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his cheerful sense of humor and joyful spirit. He also gave boundless support to those he loved. We will cherish his memory in the simple joys of each day, such as sipping coffee outside while listening to the birds.

Chuck wished to be cremated upon his passing, and his family is honoring those wishes. Condolences may be made at www.cresthavenfh.com.
