Three people rescued from floodwater in Ripley County

RIPLEY COUNTY – Indiana Conservation Officers, along with other responders, rescued three people this morning after they attempted to drive through floodwater in Ripley County.

Responding conservation officers, along with an Indiana State Police diver, entered the water and used water rescue techniques to safely reach the vehicle and move all three occupants to safety. The individuals were treated and released at the scene.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public to never attempt to drive through floodwater. Always remember: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”

Assisting agencies included the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, and the New Marion, Holton, and Osgood Volunteer Fire Departments.
