BNL Unified team tops Seymour

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence conquered Seymour during Unified track action on Thursday.

The Stars totaled 128 points while the Owls scored 52.

“The kids did great, winning every event and sweeping the top three spots in most events,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “We have been struggling in the long jump lately. Tonight we still didn’t see our best, but we did see improvement over the last couple meets.

”The seniors had a good night and all of the kids had a lot of fun. This year’s seniors are a good group of kids and they will be missed next year. Three of our seniors are four-year varsity, and the fourth one is only in his first year because he is an exchange student.

“Tonight is always a good senior send-off meet and is good preparation for the meet in Fishers tomorrow. The Jim Brown Invitational is an awesome end to our regular season. It is a very tough meet. It is essentially a state preview meet. It is good for us to see our post-season possibilities since several teams from this meet make it to the state meet each year.”

BNL will compete in the Jim Brown Invitational at Fishers on Friday.
