Mitchell man charged with sexual misconduct following juvenile runaway investigation

MITCHELL A Mitchell man is facing multiple felony charges after a runaway juvenile investigation led police to uncover allegations of sexual misconduct.

The charges against 20-year-old Raven Gilleo were unsealed following a probable cause affidavit filed by Mitchell Police Officer Cody Grogan.

The case began on October 24, 2025, when Mitchell officers were dispatched to locate a 15-year-old runaway juvenile. According to court records, the juvenile was located on 8th Street and transported to the Mitchell Police Department.

A family member of the juvenile provided officers with a cellular device containing messages between the minor and Gilleo. The messages reportedly discussed a late-night meeting on October 23, where Gilleo agreed to pick up the juvenile. The minor also confirmed her age as 15 to Gilleo during their digital correspondence.

Furthermore, the family member discovered Gilleo’s sweatshirt in the juvenile’s bedroom.

During initial interviews, the juvenile told police that Gilleo picked her up, took her to a fast-food restaurant, and then to a residence where they engaged in sexual activity before dropping her off the following morning.

The juvenile was transported to IU Health Bedford for a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) exam, where DNA evidence and clothing were collected for analysis.

On October 25, Gilleo arrived at the Mitchell Police Station for an interview. According to the affidavit, Gilleo admitted to meeting the minor on social media and picking her up on the night of October 23.

Gilleo claimed they drove around Bedford and that she dropped the minor back at her residence around 2:30 a.m. He confirmed the minor had his clothing but denied that any sexual contact took place.

Gilleo consented to a DNA swab for comparison with the evidence collected during the juvenile’s exam.

The investigation took a significant turn on April 24, 2026, when the Bedford Police Department provided Mitchell investigators with a video and transcript recorded by one of Gilleo’s co-workers.

In the recording, Gilleo reportedly admitted to the sexual encounter, stating that they went back to her house to watch a movie and eventually “did it.”

Based on the digital evidence, physical evidence, and the recorded admission, Officer Grogan requested a warrant for Gilleo’s arrest. He is charged with sexual misconduct with a minor/statutory rape, sexual misconduct with a minor/fondling, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
