GREENWOOD – Troopers from the Indiana State Police Indianapolis District are investigating a serious crash that occurred this morning on I-65 northbound near Greenwood. The crash was the result of a woman fleeing from police on I-65.
The incident began when a Trooper from the Indiana State Police Versailles District attempted to pull over a grey Chevrolet Equinox on I-65 northbound near the 75-mile marker for speeding and a false/fictitious license plate. The driver refused to pull over and fled away from the trooper. The trooper pursued the vehicle northbound on I-65 into Johnson County. An adult female in one of the vehicles was in critical condition. Responding troopers applied multiple tourniquets to her, and she was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. She is listed as critical but stable. Five other people were transported to area hospitals for various non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the fleeing vehicle, 25-year-old Nicole Bryant of Indianapolis, was taken into custody by police. She was later transported to the hospital via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
