ELLETTSVILLE – Edgewood swept the doubles en route to a 4-1 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school tennis action on Thursday.
BNL’s lone win came from Elizabeth Miskuf, who cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Ellie Jackson at No.2 singles.
“I am so proud of Zee,” BNL coach Jennifer Edwards said. “She absolutely killed it. She and her opponent were really well matched, and most points had really long rallies. Zee was able to fight through and win those points.”
The Mustangs dropped only eight games combined on the other four courts.
Cora Jones and Sophie Kapperman stopped Jada Key and Abi Bruner 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 doubles, while Meg Wilson and Audrey Gudmunson rolled past Claire Edwards and Emma Voris 6-0, 6-1 at No.2.
In singles, Marley Jackson conquered Emma Conover 6-2, 6-3 at No.1. Boston Chambers topped Bailey Fisher 6-2, 6-0 at No.3.
The Stars (0-11) will host Lighthouse Christian on Friday.
