FREEMONT – A pursuit that started in Michigan ends with one man arrested in Indiana. On Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:00 p.m., Indiana State Police Troopers were made aware of a pursuit coming south on I69 from Michigan.
The Troopers made their way towards the state line on I-69 and set up stop sticks (tire deflation device) in an attempt to stop the pursuit.
The suspect vehicle was a black Thunderbird. As the vehicle entered Indiana, a Trooper successfully deployed a stop stick. The tires on the Thunderbird deflated, slowing the car. As the tires slowly deflated, the Thunderbird continued south and exited at the Toll Road exit (356MM).
As the car slowed, the driver ran on foot. Another Indiana State Police Trooper pursued the driver on foot and quickly caught up to him. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Steuben County Jail.
The driver was identified as Mason Holbrook, 39, of Lawton, FL. He was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and resisting law enforcement.
