BEDFORD — A Bedford man was arrested Wednesday evening following a domestic dispute that reportedly turned physical while a child was present, and the victim was holding an infant.
Danny Wall, 37, was taken into custody on April 22nd, after Bedford Police responded to a residence in the 1300 block of I Street for a welfare check. Wall faces preliminary charges of domestic battery on a pregnant female and domestic battery in the presence of a minor.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Officer A. Manke, the incident began shortly after Wall arrived home from work around 5:00 p.m. The female victim told police that an argument ensued after Wall began drinking. Wall, however, stated the conflict began because the victim was upset that he was playing video games.
The victim alleged that during the argument, Wall slapped her arm and pulled her hair before striking her in the back of the head with an open hand. She informed officers that she was holding the couple’s 5-month-old daughter at the time she was struck and noted that she is currently about four to six weeks pregnant with another child.
During the investigation, Wall admitted to investigators that he struck the victim in the back of the head with an open hand. He also reportedly admitted to punching and breaking a television in the living room after becoming angry when the victim threw a controller and unplugged the console. Wall told officers that he was aware the victim was pregnant and acknowledged he “should not have hit her.” He also admitted that similar incidents had occurred in the past.
Officers observed a hole in the screen of the living room television, which was located near the infant’s crib. While the victim did not have visible bruising, she was evaluated by EMS on the scene and signed a statement of refusal for further treatment.
Wall was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
Due to the presence of a minor during the altercation, the Department of Child Services (DCS) was contacted, and a formal report was assigned to the case. The victim completed a Domestic Violence Lethality Screening and signed a domestic battery affidavit following the incident.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This article is based on the information provided in the probable cause affidavit and does not represent a final determination of guilt or innocence.
