MITCHELL – South Lawrence Utilities has officially lifted the boil water order for residents on Kelso Road and the surrounding areas.
The precautionary measure, which was issued on April 23, followed a water main break that required emergency repairs. Utility crews worked through the evening on Thursday to restore the line and ensure system pressure was stabilized.
Following the successful repair of the main, water samples were collected and sent for laboratory testing to confirm that the water meets all state and federal safety standards for consumption. Those tests have now returned clear, allowing the utility to rescind the order.
