
Perry Dewayne Reynolds, 66, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Redcrest Bloomington Hospice House.
Born September 18, 1959, in Bedford, he was the son of Willard Eugene and Judith Ann (Taylor) Reynolds. He married Teresea Ann Bennett on June 9, 1979, and she survives.
Perry retired after 28 ½ years from National Gypsum and was a 1977 graduate of Mitchell High School. He was a member of Park Place Church of God, where he was a Sunday School teacher, a deacon, and led men’s fellowship. Perry served his community as a Mitchell City Councilman, founder of the Neighborhood Watch, and in 2012 was awarded Volunteer of the Year from Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Huron Volunteer Fire Department from 1990 to 1993, the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department from 1995 to 2009, and volunteered as a SIAGS guardian. Perry was a carpenter of all trades and master of all jokes.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Reynolds of Mitchell; children, Candice (Danny) Dersch of Morganton, North Carolina and Benjamin (Jessica) Reynolds of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Kai Livingston, Draven Livingston, Jaxon Reynolds, Elenore Reynolds, Delaney Dersch, and Breanna Dersch; great grandson, Jack Flammia; and siblings, Penelope “Penny” Dawn Reynolds Davis of Mitchell and Philip Dru (Jeanna) Reynolds of Fort Branch.
His parents and sister, Patricia Diane Reynolds, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Donnie Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
