BNL boys race to team title in Warrior Invitational

BICKNELL – Bedford North Lawrence won five events while taking home the team title in the Warrior Invitational during boys high school track action on Friday night.

The Stars totaled 117 points in the 12-team field, while South Knox was second with 106. In the girls meet, BNL finished eighth with 54 points while Linton and North Knox shared the top spot with 89.

Luke Morris was a key scorer for the Stars. He won the 110 high hurdles in 15.60, then added a victory in the 300 low hurdles in 40.95. He was also a member of the victorious 1600 relay while teaming with Saeben Arce, Driven Axsom and Ben Conner to clock 3:36.16.

BNL’s other wins were posted by Tripp Stahl, who doubled up in the discus (141-10) and shot put (52-9).

In the girls meet, BNL’s lone win came from Madalyn Mason, who claimed the shot put at 31-5.5.

BNL will host Edgewood on Tuesday.
