SHOALS — East Fork Water, Inc. has issued an immediate boil order for a specific section of its service area following an interruption in water service.
Effective today, April 16, 2026, customers living West of Highway 450 on Dover Hill Road and all surrounding areas—including the Bellgrade area—are advised to boil their water until further notice.
To ensure the safety of the drinking water supply, East Fork Water officials recommend the following precautions:
- Boil Vigorously: Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least three minutes before use.
- Cool and Store: Once boiled, the water should be allowed to cool and then stored in a clean container in the refrigerator.
- Specific Uses: Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, diluting fruit juices, making ice, and all other forms of food preparation.
The boil order is expected to remain in place for the next few days. East Fork Water will notify the public once the order has been lifted and testing confirms the water is safe for standard consumption.
