Code/IT Academy now accepting applicants for free IT training

BLOOMINGTON  Code/IT Academy is accepting applicants for the next 10-week information technology (IT) training class that starts May 5, 2026. Residents across the 11-county Indiana Uplands region are eligible to apply, and training leads to local careers in tech. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and there is no cost to participate.

Code/IT Academy is beginner-friendly; no prior experience is needed. Participants will build essential skills and be prepared to earn the CompTIA Tech+ certification, qualifying them for entry-level IT roles.

Loaner laptops are available for the free course. Accepted applicants will also receive career coaching, job search support, and the opportunity to continue their IT education at Ivy Tech.

The program is offered through a partnership between Ivy Tech Community College BloomingtonAmplify Bloomington, and Regional Opportunity Initiatives, supported by a $1.37M READI grant.

Applications are due by April 28.
