BNL boys finish second at Seymour

BNL’s Orion Hill and the Stars finished second during a three-team meet at Seymour on Thursday.

SEYMOUR – Bedford North Lawrence finished second in a three-team meet during boys high school track action on Thursday night.

The Stars totaled 50 points. Seymour won the event with 68 while Jennings County was third with 49. In the girls meet, Seymour won with 73 points, followed by Jennings County (67) and BNL (27).

In the boys meet, winners for the Stars included Luke Morris (15.78 in the 110 high hurdles and 41.81 in the 300 low hurdles), Tripp Stahl (53-7 3/4 in the shot put and 144-0 in the discus), Parker Beeson (19-8 1/2 in the long jump), and Ben Conner (6-0 in the high jump).

“We had some good performances, but we really took it easy,” BNL coach Brett Deckard said. “We are going to a big meet tomorrow.”

In the girls meet, BNL’s top finishers included Madalyn Mason (second in the shot put at 27-5), Clara Lumpe (second in the discus at 77-1), Emma Heinzman (second in the long jump at 14-9) and Alaina Fish (second in the high jump at 4-10).

BNL will compete in the Stargazer Invitational at Corydon on Friday.
