Lawrence County Redevelopment Commission to review TIF Reports and Shell Building progress

BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Redevelopment Commission is scheduled to convene this week to discuss several key economic development projects and financial reports essential to the county’s growth strategy.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. Members of the commission and the public will gather at 916 15th Street, Room 28, to address a packed agenda ranging from infrastructure updates to annual financial disclosures.

High on the priority list for this session is the Annual TIF (Tax Increment Financing) Report. This document is a critical tool for local government, outlining how captured tax revenue is being reinvested into specific development districts to spur job creation and infrastructure improvements.

The commission will also receive updates on two major property developments:

  • The Shell Building Project: Officials are expected to provide status reports on both the physical construction progress and the bond updates related to the facility. Shell buildings are often used as “move-in ready” sites to attract new industrial or manufacturing tenants to the region.
  • 621 Main Street: An update is scheduled for this specific downtown property, which has been a point of interest for local redevelopment efforts.

The official order of business for the April 9 session is as follows:

  1. Call Meeting to Order
  2. Approval of Minutes
  3. Approval of Claims
  4. Shell Building Bond Update
  5. Annual TIF Report
  6. 621 Main Street Update
  7. Shell Building Update
  8. Other Business
  9. Adjourn

The Redevelopment Commission plays a vital role in managing the county’s economic incentives and property assets. Following the conclusion of the scheduled agenda, any additional business not previously listed may be brought before the board before adjournment.
