Sharon Dale Fox, 81, of Bedford, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
She was born on August 14, 1944, in Bedford to the late James and Olive Case Chaillaux. She married Jerry Fox, and he preceded her in death in 2016. Sharon was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and worked as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln and Parkview Elementary Schools, where she enjoyed helping and encouraging the children she worked with.
Sharon loved visiting the beach, which she often called her happy place, and she found great joy in collecting seashells along the shore.
Sharon cherished life’s simple moments, but nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering, and the memories they shared will always be treasured.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kelli (Brian) Prince and Kris (Tom) Allen; stepson, Jeff (Marie) Fox; grandchildren, Gavin (Jacey) Anderson, Lance (Amanda) Grimes, Jesse Prince, Zach Prince, Camden (Jade Hill) Wedgewood, Vance Allen, Landon (Anicia) Fox, and Garrett Fox; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Terri) Chaillaux; sister-in-law, Joyce Chaillaux; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Fox; parents, James and Olive Case Chaillaux; sister, Nancy Baker; brother, Kenneth Chaillaux; and an infant brother.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana 47421. Graveside services will follow at the Old Union Christian Church Cemetery, with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating.
