Larry Dale Carmichael, Sr., 83, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, April 5 th , 2026, at his residence.
Born November 8, 1942, in Bedford, he was the son of Ralph Gordon and Helen Lora (Cathers) Carmichael. He married Mary Elizabeth Mayhew on July 18, 1964. He was a supervisor at Ralph Rogers Group and was the owner/operator of Carmichael Excavating. He also served in the US Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth of Bedford; one son, Larry Dale (Leslie) Carmichael, II of Springville; a daughter, Mary Helen McCutchen and husband Jeff of Bedford; six grandchildren, Amber (Ben) Crandall, Alex McCutchen, Lindsey McCutchen, Zachary Carmichael, Paige (Oliver Sednek) Dunn, Ryan (Raven) Dunn; seven great-grandchildren, Isla Crandall, Khyri McCutchen, Xander McCutchen, Grayson Dunn, River Sednek, Madeleine Sednek, Lilliana Dunn, Benton Fender; a sister, Carole Mouras of Bedford; nieces and nephews, Becky Byers, Robin Byers, Lana Weekley, Goldie Mouras, Lora Hyde, Gordon Mouras; great-nephew RJ Mouras.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-nephew, Brandon Harlon Hyde.
A Memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Walter Hunter officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at Day & Carter.
