
BROWNSTOWN – Brownstown scored four times in each of the first two innings while rolling to a 9-2 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during high school softball action on Monday.
The Braves (2-2) took control quickly as Jaylee Yeadon (RBI single), Olivia Justice (two-run double) and Avery Wilson (RBI single) ignited the offense in the first inning. Justice blasted a bases-loaded double during the four-run second.
BNL (0-7) countered with a run in the fourth as Karsyn Coleman single, Dalanie Davis singled and Kali McKee lofted a sacrifice fly. The Stars added a run in the seventh when Bella Warren singled, stole second and scored on a passed ball.
“I love the fight in this team,” BNL coach Brad Gilbert said. “They don’t quit. We had some good at-bats. We have to keep working to get better.”
Yeadon had three hits and Justice collected four RBIs for the Braves, who also totaled five walks. Warren had two hits for BNL.
The Stars will host Bloomfield on Tuesday.
