Joshua Timothy Govea, 35, of Loogootee, formerly of Glendale, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Born March 16, 1991, in Pomona, California, he was the son of Daniel and Faith (Pauley) Govea. Josh attended Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He married Leah Smith on October 5, 2019, and she survives.
Josh was an avid Star Wars fan, enjoyed playing tabletop role-playing games, and loved being outdoors. Josh loved the Lord with all his heart, all his soul, and all his mind.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Leah; mother, Faith Govea; brother, Isaiah Govea; grandmother, Jean Pauley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Jill Smith; sisters-in-law, Rachel (Clayton) Yoder, Hannah (Eli) Schlaegel, Hope Smith, and Faith Smith; brother-in-law, Eli Smith; nieces and nephews, Shelby and Norbert Yoder, and Levi and Shepherd Schlaegel; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Govea III; baby Serenity; and grandparents, Harry Pauley, Daniel Govea Jr., and Rachel Govea.
Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, at 431 High Street, Shoals, Indiana, with Pastor Mike Schlaegel and Pastor Phil Stutzman officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
