Lawrence County 4-H Council extends application deadline for Summer Internship for college students

BEDFORD – The Lawrence County 4-H Council is excited to announce an opportunity for local college students to gain valuable hands-on experience while making a difference in the community. The office is currently accepting applications for the 2026 4-H Summer Program Assistant position. This internship will provide students with the chance to contribute to impactful educational programming and help shape the success of the Lawrence County 4-H Fair.

The 4-H Summer Program Assistant will work closely with Extension Educators and office staff to plan, organize, and implement a variety of programs. Responsibilities include coordinating educational workshops, assisting with the 4-H Fair project check-in and judging, organizing promotional materials, and developing recruitment initiatives for the 4-H program. This position is ideal for college students studying agriculture, education, communication, or health. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain professional experience while working directly with youth and the community.

Position Details:

  • Location: Purdue Extension – Lawrence County, 924 16th Street, Bedford, IN
  • Employment Period: May–August 2026 (Start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules)
  • Qualifications: Applicants must be current college students with strong communication skills, basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, and comfort in public speaking.
