Small structure replacement project to begin on State Road 46 in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Morphey Construction, Inc. is scheduled to begin a small structure replacement project on State Road 46 in Monroe County on or after Wednesday, April 8.

The project will take place between North Brummetts Creek Road and North Sewell Road, located east of State Road 446, and is expected to be completed in early June, weather permitting. During the project, S.R. 46 will be reduced to one lane using temporary traffic signals.

This project is part of a $4.3 million contract awarded to Morphey Construction in December 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
