JACKSON COUNTY – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Eagle Painting & Maintenance Company is scheduled to begin a bridge painting project on State Road 39 over the Muscatatuck River on or after Monday, April 6, near the Jackson and Washington County line.
The project will take place between Tampico and the State Road 256 intersection and is expected to be completed in early June, weather permitting. During the project, S.R. 39 will be reduced to one 12-foot lane over the Muscatatuck River using temporary traffic signals.
This project is part of a contract awarded to Eagle Painting in November 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
