DAVIESS COUNTY — The Daviess County Rural Water System has announced that its annual spring hydrant flushing program will begin today, Monday, March 30. The maintenance process will continue daily until all service areas have been thoroughly cleared.
According to utility officials, crews will be deployed in both the northern and southern sectors of the county to ensure the efficiency of the system:
- South Area: Operations start at Bussard Road and will progress southward.
- North Area: Crews begin at County Road 100 North and will move northward through the service territory.
During the flushing process, customers may notice a temporary drop in water pressure. Additionally, residents are advised that water may appear discolored for a short period after crews have worked in their specific neighborhood.
While the water remains safe, officials suggest running cold water for several minutes until any cloudiness or sediment clears.
Residents seeking more information or experiencing prolonged issues are encouraged to contact the Daviess County Rural Water System office directly at 812-254-4526.
