BEDFORD — A Bedford woman was issued a summons to appear in court on Thursday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Mitchell Road.
Bedford Police Officer Taylor Daugherty reported that around 3:26 p.m., she observed a vehicle traveling 48 mph in a 35 mph zone. Upon initiating a traffic stop, Daugherty said she detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Elizabeth Frigerio, 60, was identified as the driver.
According to the affidavit, Frigerio initially resisted officers’ requests but eventually stepped out of the vehicle and was placed in handcuffs while her car was searched. Officers located a metallic container under the driver’s seat containing a plant-like substance, along with a glass smoking device containing burnt residue. Testing confirmed the substances were marijuana.
Frigerio was issued a summons to appear in Lawrence County Superior Court II on April 20 at 8:30 a.m. The vehicle search and all evidence were documented and secured by the police.
Sergeant Crulo assisted Officer Daugherty during the incident. No arrest warrant was issued, as Frigerio was cited and released at the scene.
