LEXINGTON, IN. A multi-agency investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of two minors has resulted in the arrest of a 68-year-old Scott County man on several felony counts.

The case began in February 2026 when a family case manager from the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) alerted authorities to allegations of inappropriate sexual contact.

ISP Detective Rob Caudill led the subsequent investigation in collaboration with DCS personnel. Key elements of the probe included forensic interviews. Victims were interviewed at a local child advocacy center to gather evidence in a sensitive environment.

Detective Caudill submitted the findings to the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office, which determined there was sufficient evidence to move forward with criminal charges.

Based on the evidence presented, the Scott County Circuit Court issued a warrant for Stewart’s arrest.

Stewart was transported to the Scott County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond on four counts of child molesting, Level 1 felonies, and eight counts of child molesting, Level 4 felonies.

Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
