
Richard D. “Dick” Robbins, 70, of Bedford, passed away at his home on March 18, 2026. Born on March 7, 1956, in Bedford, Indiana, he lived a life defined by hard work, craftsmanship, and devotion to his family.
After graduating from Bedford High School, Dick spent his entire career contributing to the local limestone industry. He began working at his family’s business, Bedford Limestone Suppliers, at the age of 16 and remained a dedicated fixture there until his retirement. Over his 50 years at “The Mill,” he earned a reputation for his work ethic and expertise.
Dick was a man who couldn’t sit still; he found great joy in renovating houses and completing projects around the home. He also loved vacationing in Florida. He achieved a lifelong dream when he and his wife purchased a home in Florida, where they lived for several years. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the beach, enjoying the sun and making memories with his grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Robbins.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Robbins; his children, Jeremy Robbins and Jamie (husband, Michael) Parsons; his grandchildren, Savannah and Jenna Robbins, Jack and Annie Parsons, and Sydnie Murphy; his siblings: Two brothers, Daniel Robbins (wife, Carol) and Dale Robbins (wife, Alice); and one sister, Denise Brock (husband, Scott).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, March 24 th, at Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to the time of the service on Tuesday.
