Orval Wesley Lessig, 63, of Mitchell passed away at his home on Friday March 6, 2026.
He was born in Lawrence County on September 29, 1962, to Leroy and Imelda “Tommie” (Grogan) Lessig. Wesley married Shaneta Yaney on April 23, 2010, and she survives.
Wesley retired from the Limestone Industry after 27 years at Victor Oolitic. He also worked at Cook and Catelent in Bloomington, he also served as maintenance director of Core Nursing Home.
Wesley was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He loved and rescued animals. Wesley had many talents in music and could play instruments, he was a master of all trades and could fix anything. He had many friends, and he will be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Shaneta Lessig, children, Zachary (Betheny) Shelton, Rachel (Clay Smith) Armstrong, Rusty (Dave) Eicle, and Kaitlyn (Levi Craig) Lessig, five grandchildren, two brothers, Randy Lessig, and John (Marie) Lessig.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Julie Lessig.
Funeral services will be on Saturday March 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
