Nona Kathleen (Wever) Case, 100, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Westview Manor Nursing Home in Bedford.
Born January 24, 1926, she was the daughter of Glen and Ada (Link) Wever. Nona was a graduate of Tunnelton High School in the class of 1944. She married Russell Dane Case on August 30, 1947, and he preceded her in death in March of 1980.
Nona was a member of the Tunnelton Methodist Church and was a devoted secretary for 20 years. She worked at Turpin Plumbing, Tunnelton High School, and eventually retired from Lincoln Elementary School. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Bedford’s Salvation Army Thrift Store and playing cards and Bingo at the Senior Citizen Center. She was also an avid sports fan and proudly watched her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at many sporting events over the years.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Diane Speer, Beverly Bailey, and Jerry Case; daughter-in-law, Carla Case; grandchildren, Jeff (Jenny) Speer, Damon (Stacey) Bailey, Courtney (Shane) Nolan, Jason (Julie) Speer, Ryan (Tesla) Case, Rory Case, Jerod (Alexis) Speer, and Ashley Case; 17 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren, with another expected in May; and several nieces and nephews. All will miss her dearly.
Nona was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ada Wever; her husband, Russell Case; son, Jack Case; sons-in-law, Ronnie Speer and Wendell Bailey; and siblings, John Wever, Bob Wever, and Bill Wever.
Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The caring staff of Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Case and her family.
