CLARK/SCOTT CO. – Overnight lane closures are scheduled on I-65 as part of the Safer Drive 65 project in Clark and Scott counties. The closures will begin on or after Wednesday, February 5, and are anticipated to last until early March, weather permitting.

Construction will take place at the following bridges:
- I-65 over Blue Lick Creek (mile marker 16.5)
- I-65 over Caney Fork (mile marker 17.4)
- I-65 over Brownstown Road (mile marker 21.2)
Overnight lane closures will occur at each bridge location between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The single-lane closures will alternate between northbound and southbound directions and between inside and outside lanes. One lane will be open in each direction at all times.
The Safer Drive 65 project will improve approximately 13 miles of I-65 between Blue Lick Road in Clark County and S.R. 56 in Scott County. The project includes adding travel lanes, reconstructing pavement, and upgrading key infrastructure along the corridor.
Additional information about the project can be found here.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
