BEDFORD — Commuters in Lawrence County should prepare for continued roadwork as the Lawrence County Highway Department extends the closure of E. Grissom Road for infrastructure repairs.
According to Highway Superintendent Brian D. Sowder, the road will be closed again today to allow crews to finalize the replacement of the culvert. The road will be closed from 8:00 a.m. until around 2:30 p.m.
While the road will be completely closed at the specific work site, Superintendent Sowder noted that residents and drivers will still be able to access properties and travel up to the point of the replacement from either direction.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid delays and to exercise caution when traveling near the construction zone.
The Highway Department thanked the community for their patience as they work to improve county infrastructure.
