BEDFORD — The Bedford Fire Pension Board has scheduled a meeting for Monday, February 23rd to address administrative business and the certification of a new firefighter candidate.
The meeting will take place at The Company Concourse. Proceedings will begin with an Executive Session at 4:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Public Session at 4:20 p.m..
According to the official agenda released by Board President and Fire Chief Luke Pinnick, the board will focus on two primary items:
- Approval of Minutes: Review and approval of the previous meeting minutes from November 10, 2025.
- Candidate Certification: The board will review, determine, and certify whether a firefighter candidate has met the minimum state requirements for hiring. This certification is a critical step in the local hiring process, pending final approval from the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund (PERF).
The Bedford Fire Pension Board is responsible for managing local pension funds and ensuring that all departmental hires meet the rigorous physical and psychological standards mandated by Indiana state law.
