Maria Cristina Roe, 72, of Bloomington, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Bloomington Hospice House.
Born November 22, 1953, in Barranquilla, Colombia South America, Maria was the daughter of Luis and Amanda Larrazabal. She graduated from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tennessee in 1976. Maria retired from Loma Linda Hospital in Loma Linda, California, where she worked in the billing department, as well as a translator. She was dedicated to ensuring her Spanish-speaking patients received the best possible care.
On September 22, 2019, Maria married Wallace Roe and soon moved to Indiana. She quickly found fulfillment as an avid member of the Bedford Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she taught children’s Sabbath school.
\Maria spent her life caring for her daughter, Kelly, as well as friends and loved ones. She loved to deliver home-baked bread and devotional books to friends and neighbors while sharing her belief in God. When she finally found time to relax, she enjoyed crocheting and word search puzzles to keep her mind sharp.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace; daughter Kelly Louise Futch of Bedford; brother Ivan (Maria) Larrazabal; nephew Orlandito (Monica) Larrazabal; several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Orlando and Harold Larrazabal, and her first husband Richard Van Futch.
