Marilyn Shively, 86, of Heltonville, passed away at 9:03 p.m., on Friday, February 13, 2026, with her family.
Born September 10, 1939, in Oolitic, she was the daughter of Glen and Lucille (Byrd) Spires. She married Morris ‘Chet’ Shively in Sevierville, Tennessee in 1981, and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2020. Marilyn was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, and a long-time member of the Christian Church in Moore Haven, Florida. She enjoyed reading and working on puzzles.
Survivors include two sons, Randy J. (Brandy) Parker of Washington, Harold T. “Todd” (Jessica) Parker of Tennessee, and John B. “Brad” (Sandra) Parker of North Carolina; three stepsons, Timothy J. Shively of Florida, Lee A. “Andy” (Margie) of Kentucky; daughter-in-law Debra Shively; one sister, Marsha (Vern) Kirkman of Orleans; sixteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, stepson Ricky M. Shively, brothers Jack and Louis Spires, sisters Louise Fox and Angela Spires.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Brad Parker and Pastor Stephen Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to the hour of service on Thursday.
