Robert Anthony ‘Tony’ Lewis, 62, of Seymour, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born October 13, 1963, in Seymour, IN, he was the son of Robert Larry and Kay (Cobbs) Lewis. Tony was a 1982 graduate of Seymour High School. He started his career working for his father and then became the owner and operator of Kar Kwik Automotive in Seymour for most of his life, retiring in 2024. Tony was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Seymour. He loved his family, friends, cars, collecting things, fishing and playing golf. If the Kansas Jayhawks were playing basketball, you knew not to try to bother him. As his friends would say, he was the life of the party and always the nicest guy in the room. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.
Tony is survived by his sister, Stacy (Christie Moore) Lewis of Portland, OR; his nephew and niece, Tommy Moore and Elena Moore; Karen’s children, Joshua A. Voss, Laura A. Kreinhagen, and Trevor A. Kreinhagen; grandchildren, Meegan Voss, Madison Voss, Brock Smith, Macey Voss, Ashlynn Smith, Madisyn Kreinhagen, and Makenzie Kreinhagen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Kay Lewis; and his beloved Karen Kreinhagen.
Funeral services for Tony will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Seymour. Burial will follow at Hayden Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., also at Burkholder Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s memory to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Reserves and the Salvation Army Central Indiana Angel Tree Program.
