BLOOMINGTON — Officials have announced that the Monroe County Board of Health meeting originally scheduled for this week has been cancelled.
The meeting was slated to take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. It was intended to be held in the Health Services Board Meeting Room on the first floor of the Monroe County Health Building, located at 119 W. 7th Street.
The Board has been navigating several critical transitions heading into 2026, including:
- Service Restructuring: Developing new ways to provide mandated health services—such as vaccinations and disease education—following the conclusion of a long-standing 60-year partnership with IU Health.
- Policy Discussions: Ongoing debates regarding the 2026 budget and potential changes to how public comments are handled during meetings.
Upcoming Meetings
While the February meeting will not take place, the Board’s established 2026 schedule currently lists the next regular session for Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the same time and location.
Residents looking for additional information or wishing to view past meeting minutes and agendas can visit the Monroe County Health Department main office at the 7th Street entrance or check the official State of Indiana events calendar for further updates.
