WASHINGTON — A month-long narcotics investigation culminated in a high-speed, multi-county chase and the seizure of nearly four pounds of methamphetamine on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Eric Logston, 42, of Washington, was apprehended after a pursuit that stretched from Daviess County into Pike County, involving multiple law enforcement agencies and ending with the suspect striking a patrol vehicle and crashing into a snowbank.
The Washington Police Department, in coordination with the DEA Task Force, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police, began tracking Logston in January. The investigation resulted in a Level 2 felony warrant for dealing methamphetamine.
On Saturday morning, officers located Logston outside a local hotel. When they attempted to serve the warrant, Logston allegedly rammed a police vehicle with his car and fled the scene, initiating a pursuit that reached speeds exceeding 80 miles per hour.
The chase moved south through Petersburg, where a Petersburg Police Department sergeant joined the effort near the Rolling Acres area.
Logston led officers onto Main Street and eventually turned into the parking lot of Onyett’s Fabricators. After circling the lot in search of an exit, Logston’s vehicle struck a Petersburg patrol car, then slid into a large snowbank and became stuck.
Upon being surrounded, police reported that Logston refused to follow commands and was observed ingesting a suspected quantity of methamphetamine in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.

Officers forcibly removed him from the vehicle and immediately administered Narcan and first aid. He was transported to a local hospital by EMS for treatment before being cleared for booking. During a subsequent search of the scene and vehicle, investigators recovered 41 grams of methamphetamine (in addition to the bulk amount seized during the investigation), a large sum of cash. Total investigation seizures amounting to nearly four pounds of methamphetamine.
Logston is currently being held at the Daviess County Security Center. He faces a litany of charges across multiple jurisdictions, including dealing meth, resisting law enforcement, attempting battery on a public safety official, intimidation, and criminal mischief.
