Delores ‘Jeannie’ Holmes, 77, passed away at her home on February 9, 2026.
Born on August 27, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Morris Owens and Oneta Bryant. On January 14, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael Holmes, and he survives. They had just celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Jeanne was a member of Crossroads Community Church. A proud Hilltopper, she was a graduate of Needmore High School with the class of 1966. She had worked for Fleetwood Mechanical. She most loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband, Michael Holmes; daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Hawk and Jennifer Holmes Pemberton; grandchildren, Chad Daggy, Travis Silvers, Kegahn Whyte, Tyler Pemberton and Riley Hawk; great-grandchildren, Dean Silvers, Lex Silvers, Owen Silvers, Madalyn Whyte, McKenna Whyte and Zeke Pemberton; and one sister, Joanne Durnill.
Visitation Jeanne Holmes will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana 47421. Private funeral services will be held.
The family requests memorials be made to the Marshall Township Park, Avoca, IN.
