NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence posted a victory over Jennings County during girls high school swimming action on Thursday night.
The Stars recorded a 113-66 win in the girls meet. In the boys meet, the Panthers won the final event to squeeze out a tight 85-82 triumph.
Ava Lipp, Sabrina Lipp and Emma Heinzman were all double winners for BNL. Ava Lipp took the 200-yard individual medley (2:36.01) and 100 backstroke (1:09.03), Sabrina Lipp won the 50 freestyle (26.71) and 100 free (1:01.01), while Heinzman claimed the 100 butterfly (1:10.76) and 100 breaststroke (1:21.97).
Skylar Neeley won the 200 freestyle in 2:26.83. The Stars also won two relays as Ava Lipp, Heinzman, Sabrina Lipp and Alaina Fish combined to take the 200 medley relay in 2:08.17. That same foursome victoriously completed the 200 free relay in 1:55.40.
In the boys meet, Lincoln Gabhart and Franklin Johnson were double winners for the Stars. Gabhart touched first in the 50 free (25.03) and 100 butterfly (1:06.03), while Johnson took the 100 free (57.27) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.97)
Jax McIntosh, Johnson, Cameron Irwin and Gabhart teamed to win the 200 medley relay in 1:58.41, then Justin Wu joined Johnson, McIntosh and Gabhart to take the 200 free relay in 1:44.69.
BNL will compete in the boys Hoosier Hills Conference meet at New Albany on Jan. 31.
