BFD Battalion Chief Faubion retires after over 31 years of dedicated service to our community

BEDFORD — Battalion Chief Jay Faubion has retired from the Bedford Fire Department after more than 31½ years of service, closing a career marked by leadership, dedication, and commitment to the community.

Faubion spent more than three decades serving Bedford, earning a reputation within the department as a steady leader and trusted mentor to the firefighters under his command. Department officials said his professionalism and integrity were evident both on the fireground and in his day-to-day work.

Throughout his career, Faubion played a key role in shaping the department’s operations and culture, providing guidance and support to colleagues while helping lead the department through countless emergencies. Fire officials said his influence will continue to be felt for years through the firefighters he trained and the example he set.

As he begins retirement, Faubion plans to spend more time farming and enjoying time with his family.
