At approximately 7:27 p.m. on January 15, Bedford Police officers were dispatched to an apartment on Ted Jones Drive. A woman had called 911 reporting a physical altercation involving a laceration to her lip. While officers were en route, dispatch warned that the dispute had turned physical again and the caller had stopped responding.

Upon arrival, Officer Stuart Ratcliff found both Eads and the woman standing near the entryway. According to the probable cause affidavit, Eads refused commands to step outside to separate the parties.

When officers entered the residence to detain Eads, a struggle ensued. Officer Ratcliff reported that Eads pulled his arms away with “powerful and forceful motion” while ignoring multiple commands to stop resisting. Officers were eventually able to secure him in handcuffs after moving him against a living room couch.

Following his arrest, Eads claimed there had been no physical altercation. A Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) administered at the scene indicated a high level of alcohol consumption with a blood-alcohol content of 0.310 percent.

Due to this level of intoxication—nearly four times the legal driving limit—Eads was transported to IU Health Bedford for medical clearance before being booked into jail.

The female caller informed investigators that the argument began over comments Eads made about another resident. She alleged that during the dispute, Eads pointed his finger in her face and pushed her onto the bedroom floor. The woman signed a battery affidavit and requested that charges be filed.

Court records noted in the affidavit reveal this is not the first such incident between the two parties. Eads was previously convicted of domestic battery against the same female in 2023.
