BEDFORD — A Bedford man was arrested Wednesday evening after police responded to a disturbance outside the Indiana Center for Recovery, authorities said.

Jesse Aaron Myers, 42, was taken into custody on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct following an incident reported around 6:19 p.m. Police were called to the facility after a report of a man yelling at a woman outside the lobby.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers made contact with Myers, who became loud and confrontational toward police. After being warned about his behavior, Myers continued to act aggressively, including toward Officer Turner, police said.
Officers reported detecting the odor of alcohol on Myers and administered a preliminary breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.230. Due to his behavior and level of intoxication, Myers was detained and placed in a patrol vehicle.
Police said Myers was later transported to IU Health Bedford for medical clearance before being taken to the Lawrence County Jail for processing and housing.
Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
