SHIPSHEWANA – The Indiana State Police was contacted in May 2025 in regard to an alleged domestic battery incident involving the Shipshewana Town Marshall, Juan Carlos Jasso.

The Indiana State Police concluded their investigation and turned over the findings to the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office. The case was then turned over to a special prosecutor because of Mr. Jasso’s employment status in LaGrange County as a Law Enforcement Officer. After their review, the months-long investigation resulted in a warrant being issued on a felony charge of intimidation. Juan Carlos Jasso (49) of Shipshewana turned himself into the LaGrange County Jail yesterday.
If there are any questions regarding Jasso and his employment status, please direct them to the town of Shipshewana.
