Nancy Jo (Morgan) Broglin passed away on January 10th , 2026, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
She was born on September 20 th, 1936, to parents Floyd and Ruthven (Dunlavy) Morgan in Indianapolis, Indiana. Nancy graduated in 1954 from Indiana State Teachers’ College (now ISU) in Terre Haute, Indiana, with a degree in Music Education and later finished her Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana University. She married Daris Lee Broglin on June 14 th, 1959, in Boswell, Indiana.
They had three daughters, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Nancy taught her first year in music at Hobart, then taught third grade at Hillsdale, Corydon, Elizabeth, and Dollens Elementary in Oolitic, Indiana. She earned her retirement in 1994 after 36 years in education.
Nancy was a gifted singer and spent many years of her adult life singing in the choir at the First United Methodist Church in Bedford, Indiana. Her dream was to be an opera singer, and that dream became a reality when she sang with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for one year. Later in life, Nancy enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends across the United States in the Wally Byam Airstream Club. Contributing to their Airstream chapter as the secretary, she documented adventures in the chapter newsletter
One of Nancy’s greatest loves was being Mämă to her grandchildren, especially when they were young and still enjoyed bedtime stories and sleepovers at “Broglin’s Hollar.”
Nancy is greatly missed and survived by her husband, Daris L. Broglin; daughters, Julia Brown-Wolfe (David), Deena Broglin (Lisa Rough), Darinda Broglin-Bartlett (Casey); grandchildren, Morgan Reardon (Sean), Carson Brown (Catherine), Delaney Brown, Zoe Rough-Broglin, and Noah Rough-Broglin; great-granddaughter Eloise Jo Reardon, and Caroline Reardon; sister Marcia Muller (Kenny) brother Dwight Morgan (Jean); along with cousins, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service for Nancy will be on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana, with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Visitation will also be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
