BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Commissioners opened their first meeting of the year on Tuesday morning by reorganizing their leadership and approving infrastructure improvements for the county’s judicial facilities.

In a unanimous vote, the commissioners elected their officers for the 2026 calendar year. Jeff McKnight was selected to serve as President, taking over the helm of the three-member board. Rodney Fish was elected to serve as Vice President.
The reorganization marks the start of the county’s legislative and executive agenda for the new year, with both officials expressing a commitment to maintaining fiscal responsibility and improving county services.

- Plumbing & Electric: Running new hot and cold waterlines, installing electrical outlets, and adding a saniflow pump.
- Installation: Laying new flooring and installing fresh countertops, a new sink, a faucet, and a dishwasher.
