South sweeps to victories over BNL

BEDFORD – Bloomington South swept to wins over Bedford North Lawrence during high school swimming action on Tuesday night.

The Panthers posted a 117-63 victory in the girls meet, followed by a 116-52 decision over the Stars in the boys meet.

BNL’s Ava Lipp recorded the lone win for the Stars, splashing to the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.42. Other top finishers for BNL included Sabrina Lipp (second in the 50 freestyle in 26.70), Amelia Rich (second in the 500 free in 6:35.12) and Kayeh Kwayke (second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:34.81).

In the boys meet, BNL’s best included Cameron Irwin (second in the 500 freestyle in 6:19.44), Jax McIntosh (second in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.93) and Franklin Johnson (second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.55).

The Stars will compete in the Hoosier Hills Conference girls meet at Columbus East on Saturday.
