Indiana State Police investigating pedestrian struck by Corydon Police cruiser

CORYDON – Sunday, January 11, 2026: Indiana State Police troopers from the Sellersburg Post are investigating a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash that occurred late Sunday night and sent a local man to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on an unlighted section of Corydon Ramsey Road near the intersection of Skyway Drive. Troopers Nathaniel Newton and Devin Hopkins responded to the scene and were later assisted by an Indiana State Police crash reconstruction investigator.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a pedestrian, identified as Jay Williams, 45, of Corydon, was walking southbound on the fog line of the southbound lane of Corydon Ramsey Road when he was struck from behind. The driver of the vehicle was Sergeant Glen Crawford of the Corydon Police Department, who was on duty and operating a marked Corydon Police Department cruiser at the time of the crash.

Williams was transported by Harrison County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, Corydon Police Department, Harrison County Township Fire Department, and Harrison County EMS.

This crash remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
