Oolitic Town Hall to close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

OOLITIC — Town officials have announced that Oolitic Town Hall will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The closure is part of the town’s official 2026 holiday schedule, recently released by the Oolitic Town Council. All municipal administrative offices, including the Clerk-Treasurer’s office and utility billing department, will be unavailable during the federal holiday.

Residents needing to conduct town business—such as paying water bills or applying for permits—can do so when the Town Hall resumes its regular operating hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

For those needing to make utility payments during the closure, the town’s outdoor drop box remains available for check or money order payments. Additionally, many residents now use the Oolitic Water Works online portal to manage their accounts online.

The Town Council also recently confirmed its meeting schedule for the new year. While the Town Hall is closed on the 19th, the council typically holds its regular monthly public meetings on the last Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, when officials are expected to discuss local infrastructure projects and upcoming community events.
