Safety Alert: Evenflo recalls All4One child seats due to crash and injury risks

INDIANA — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a safety recall for approximately 67,416 Evenflo All4One child seats due to a mechanical defect that could compromise a child’s safety during a collision.

According to the NHTSA Recall ID 25C011, the adjustable recline mechanism on certain All4One models may shift out of its intended position while being used in the rear-facing mode. This failure prevents the seat from complying with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, which governs child restraint systems.

If a car seat fails to maintain its proper recline position, it may not adequately secure a child during a crash, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury.

Additionally, Evenflo noted a secondary risk: if another passenger in the vehicle places their hand near the recline mechanism while it shifts, they could suffer a pinch or crush injury.

Affected Models and Manufacture Dates

The recall specifically impacts All4One 4-in-1 convertible seats manufactured between December 2021 and June 2023. Owners should look for the following model numbers on the white label located on the back or bottom of the seat:

Evenflo has committed to replacing the affected child seats free of charge. Unlike some recalls that offer a “repair kit,” this safety issue requires a full replacement of the unit to ensure compliance with federal safety standards.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed starting January 26, 2026. However, parents and caregivers do not need to wait for the letter to take action.

While waiting for a replacement, Evenflo advises that the seat remains protective for the child, but caregivers must ensure that other passengers keep their hands and fingers away from the recline mechanism when the seat is in the rear-facing position.

Locate the white sticker on the back or bottom of your car seat to find the model number and date of manufacture.

Visit the NHTSA Recall Look-up Tool or Evenflo’s dedicated recall page to confirm your seat is included.
