
Wilma Louise (Chasteen) Charles, 92, of Bedford, passed away surrounded by her family on December 31, 2025, at Cedar Creek Assisted Living.
Born May 27, 1933, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Henry and Frances (Brinegar) Chasteen. She married Farrell “Buck” Charles on June 9, 1972, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2012.
Wilma worked at Diane Dress Shop, Needmore Schools, and Four Winds Resort. She loved to cook, bake, garden, spend time with her family, travel with her husband on the Happy Traveler’s bus, and go on vacations with her niece and nephew, Brenda & Charlie Stewart. She was of the Christian faith, and even though in her final years she physically couldn’t get to church, she faithfully sent her monthly tithes to Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debby Rollins; son, Steven (Carol) Kinser; step-sons, Farrell (Linda) Charles and Vance (Jennifer) Charles; grandchildren, Robbie Davis, James (Mandy) Davis, Kayla Rollins (Jeff Larson), Amanda (Nick) Goodman, Adam (Amy) Kinser, Rachel Hillenburg, Taylor (Anna) Charles, Savanna Charles, Cooper Charles, and Brooks Charles; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 grandsons Brett Kinser & Bucky Charles II; son in law Greg Rollins; 6 sisters, Florence Childers, Dorothy Kirkman, Mary Patton, Thelma Sullivan, Edna Jackson, and Marjorie Reeves; 4 brothers, John, Joe, Jim, and Marshall Chasteen; 2 sisters-in-law Doris Magnus and Lorene Crowe; and brother-in-law Vollie Charles.
The family would like to thank Cedar Creek Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice Care for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 2, 2025, at the Limestone Chapel of George Funeral Care, 527 15 th Street in Bedford. Burial will follow in Judah Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service on Friday at the Limestone Chapel, Bedford.
