Three arrested in Bedford after attempting to hide from police

BEDFORD – A warrant service operation in Lawrence County led to the arrest of three individuals on Friday night after they allegedly provided false identities to officers.

On December 19th, officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office acted on an anonymous tip regarding two men with active warrants. The search led them to a residence on Hillbilly Hollar Road.

Arron Land

Upon arrival, police discovered Arron Land, 32, hiding behind a wooden shed. Land repeatedly identified himself as his brother, “Brandon,” but was taken into custody after dispatch confirmed his true identity and multiple active warrants.

Erica Brock

During the investigation at the residence, officers encountered Erica Brock, 40, who initially claimed no one else was inside. After Brock was arrested on an active warrant from another county, officers entered the home to retrieve her belongings and found a third individual, Timothy Morton, 48, hiding under bed covers.

Timothy Morton

Morton provided several false names—including “Bill” and “William Morton”—before a social security check revealed his true identity and an active 2024 warrant. Morton eventually admitted the residence was his.

All three suspects were transported to the Lawrence County Jail. They face preliminary charges including of providing false identity statements and assisting a criminal.

The incident was captured on police body cameras.
